I am now in my 39th year of fishing the Dee and yesterday I had the pleasure of witnessing something for the first time ever. As I arrived at the river another rod had just caught a beautiful fish of 11lbs........as soon as I saw it I thought "I wonder". I examined the fish and my suspicions were confirmed - it was a sea-liced specimen. It's 15 years since I last saw a sea liced fish in the Upper Dee and I was surprised to see that one of the lice still had it's tail and breathers. However, I was amazed to see that one of them was still alive and moving . This is a truly remarkable occurence when you consider the distance from the estuary to Corwen. I will make further enquiries about the estimated time that it took this fish to reach us and I'll report my findings. I took the liberty of photographing the fish and one of its passengers: - Happy Days Chainman

That fish must have discarded the outboard as it passed though St Davids
