Hi.Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all. I'm hoping to have a go at day time seatrouting next year and would like some advise on rod length/type. Would it be 9ft.,!0ft.,10ft 6". in size 6,7,8 #line..I would prefer single handed with extended butt. What about these "Switch" rods just in case I hook a salmon.Any advise would be very much appreciated from the "Experts". .Chris.

Hi Chris
A 9'6" 7 weight will do the job nicely.........I use a Sage SLT which was designed for Saltwater work. It's a stiff actioned rod and therefore works perfectly for the purpose you want. I landed a 9lb Salmon with it this year (no problem at all).
A 10ft 8 weight would also do the job but whatever you do just make sure that your rod of choice has plent of 'guts' to cope.
Hope this helps
