When I originally started these threads (this one and 'the final month') I did so in order that anglers from outside the area would have an idea of prospects before arriving at or deciding whether or not to travel to the river. The internet and mobile phones etc have over the years afforded us almost 'real time' information. There is a network of anglers in constant dialogue with each other during the season, all sharing information regarding the fishing prospects and events in the area. When I spoke to Tango about setting up the forum I had thought that it would be a real benefit to CADAC members if this network information could be shared. Mick gives a weekly report of the CADAC fishery and I have been informing you on a regular basis on events on the whole ' Corwen Area' fishery in an attempt to enthuse anglers by informing you that there were fish in the area. It has since come to light that certain people have issues with this and do not wish to know of fish caught on other Beats.......why that is is really quite beyond me . I have therefore decided to save myself a lot of time and effort and to stop posting this information. If it's not appreciated and is causing ill feeling then so be it. In the meantime if there are those of you who wish to know what's going on drop me a PM and I'll do my best to let you know. Chainman

You are joking, right? People DON'T want to know potentially helpful info? Isn't that the point of a club, a website and a forum? Can I suggest then, that in true 9 O'CLOCK NEWS style, "If you don't want to know the results, look away now!" I would guess that more people find this info useful than not, so why bow to the minority? I drive for 90 mins to get to the Dee and I try to gather as much info as possible before leaving the house.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks
Trev

Hi Chainman , I have to say that I find this thread very useful , it is most helpful to know if there are fish in the area even if they are not being caught on CADAC waters...Why? because if people know that there are fish coming off , for example , the Junction , then they are more likely to go out and fish CADAC waters and so more likely to catch a fish . You can't please all the people all of the time . Anyway on a 'water in the Corwen area' on Tuesday evening , I believe at 10.20 pm , whilst fishing for Sea Trout one 'lucky club Chairman ' caught a fresh 9lb Salmon on his sea trout rod and of course as per the newly adopted CADAC Salmon policy , released it . As per my usual form I lost a sea trout after a couple of minutes , caught one miniscule brown trout and had three 'pulls' . Useful information , because fresh run Salmon and sea trout are also there on CADAC waters .

Hi Chainman, Sorry to hear that you have upset some people, i think perhaps they need to get a life! this is one reason i left the coarse angling match scene some years ago. I have found your posts on the subject really worthwhile and informative its also good to know that the salmon are coming out. I have also since i joined the club found the majority anglers are only to willing to help. I am still trying for my first Salmon so i need all the help i can. I would think that the majority of members would like you to carry on and appreciate all the hard work that you and the committee do i also find Madmick1 reports interesting and helpfull. Like brofly says let them look away otherwise forums are a waste of time. Keep up the good work boys. Tight Lines Barry

Had two tugs today on Chain the first was just a normal steady pull on the line and then a run around the pool , a coloured Hen to hand which was released. The second tug was quite dramatic the noise of my reel frightened the sheep drinking on the far bank I lifted the rod and it nearly left my hands more screaming reel and one lamb ran up the bank. I carried on with my fight when suddenly my line shot out of the water and I was down to the backing, when I looked up line was top of bank high and heading for Rhaggat Hall that's when all my training of long distance C&R came in useful and I retrieved my line to find some nice welsh lamb wool covering my fly. I have received a number of phone calls from anglers who wish us to continue reporting events in the Upper Dee on this forum.....irrespective of where they occur!!! In view of this and the various posts on here urging us to continue I have decided to do so.
As some have previously said, if you don't wish to know then...... simply look away.
By posting this information we will endeavour to do the best for the majority of our members by keeping them informed. The days of secrecy within angling clubs should be a thing of the past, but if secrecy 'floats your boat'.........go and join the Masons!!!!!

Thanks Barry.......I'm happy to say that a fish was hooked and lost on a fly this aftero noon on The Run whilst another was caught on Chain. The latter was a 10lb fresh fish and it was returned.
I spent 2 hours on Tailor's earlier and saw 2 fish.....both grilse. So folks, there's still a reasonable chance of a fish.

The river was rising and coloured this evening and there was a good head of water coming down the Alwen. I must say that it wasn't high - higher yes, but a lovely level but the colour was fairly bad. In view of the fact that the majority of water was coming down the tributaries I would hazard a guess that the river will be fishable tomorrow and if not, it certainly wil be on Friday, providing we have no further rain. I did see two fish in a very short period of time and by all accounts there are good numbers of fish on their way to us. A fish was caught today below the Swimming Pool Bridge and I would imagine that our tally will increase over the next few days Chainman
