Harry , how many Salmon members do we have ? I guess it is they and not Trout members that we are trying to target ? Also as for the Forum we seem to have far more Guests visiting it than members and anglers do talk to each other on the bank....I think the message will get round . Was in the tackle shop in Corwen today (on my way back from the Ceirw) and was told 'the locals are having loads of fish on the worm' , Tango any chance of 5 signs instead of 4 and I'll ask to put up a sign in the tackle shop . Keep the Faith....Mick

Mick I do not think there is anything to say all the guests are actually members of the club.
Perhaps Tango can enlighten us on this subject ?

Think you'll find chaps that guest simply means that there are people reading the posts without being logged in.........we can all show up as 'guests' if we don't log in!!!!
On the Salmon front an 8lber was caught on the Wharf tonight.....it was kept.
BTW Mick the locals aren't catching them in numbers.........I know of 7 fish caught this year by local anglers and I'm sure that you'll have a record of them. Give me a ring if you want to cross reference them.

Afraid I'm one of the guilty ones who doesn't always log in if I'm in a hurry to see what's new on the Forum. Doubtless others are similarly idle.

Weekly Report ; Sat 16th to Friday 22nd July . I am aware of five Salmon being caught on CADAC waters between these dates . Three were reported by their captors within a reasonable time . Two by people who were reliably aware that fish had been caught How refreshing and simple when someone rings me a gives the details of a fishes capture . Sea Trout ; two fish reported during this time frame , both quite small . There are still many fish that I do not have details of (ie reported by someone else who has seen the fish caught ), if you have caught a Salmon or Sea Trout this season and not reported it to me , maybe having left a message for Gordon , then do not be afraid to ring with the details ie your name etc . Keep the Faith.....Mick

.....the Beat details would also be useful - that's if you have them of course Chainman May I remind Chainman of a conversation we had earlier this year, putting the salmon per beat into the public domain is a bad thing. I can set up a seperate area that only logged in members can view for this if needed.

There is a way I can implement this next year, new registrations supply me with their name and membership number, I then check this with you, once you confirm they get forum membership. A pain in the ass but it can be done if needed.

I have recently had fish reported via the forum . Whilst I would prefer a phone call (and will ring the person back if they leave a message) Forum reporting is acceptable but I will need the following details; Full Name of captor , Date of Capture , Where caught ie beat except in the case of the Berwyn Beat when I would like the pool name , Size of Fish , Method ie Fly , Spin or Bait , Whether the fish was a Cock or Hen , Whether the fish was Kept or Released . Remember ALL coloured fish to be returned (there are colour pictures in the huts to aid this).....and last season we had a good return rate of Salmon that can then go on to breed . This season or return rate is currently poor to say the least....please try to improve this . You would think this was a simple and easy process , it has not been up this point and I would rather be fishing than playing detective because members , for whatever reason , don't see fit to report migratory fish caught . Tight Lines......Mick

because members , for whatever reason , don't see fit to report migratory fish caught . This needs addressing at the next committee meeting (Tue 2nd), we'll put something in place for next year. A lot of the salmon members are unaware of the change and we'll have to live with it this year.

Weekly report ; Saturday 23rd July until 9.30 am on Friday 29th July .Only one Salmon reported from St Davids , a Silver fish that was kept by its proud captor . Have now been able to collate fish reported to myself and those reported to Gordon , we still have the same number of fish witnessed caught but not reported by their captors but it's still not to late to report them . Keep the Faith......Mick

Only one other interesting report recieved this week but not about migratory fish . A member was playing a brown trout accidently hooked on his robust Salmon Worming gear when the trout was seized by a large Otter . Apparently the Otter was spitting and hissing loudly during the contest . Not sure who won this (I guess not the unfortunate Trout) as I was awkwardly parked on the road by the Chain whilst the conversation was taking place and felt I had to leave before something ran into me . I have also had a very good siting of a Hobby recently whilst fishing CADAC waters , there's more to fishing than just catching fish .
