Thanks for starting the tread so promptly Tango ! So just a reminder that the Salmon season starts on 3rd March . It is BARBLESS flies only until the 1st June when it is permissable to spin as well but again with barbless hooks until the 16th June . All migratory fish caught before 16th June must be returned . Please report Salmon and Sea Trout to me on 01939 261100 as per Club rules . Please don't try to report them to me via this thread....it tends to end being far more complicated than it need be . If you phone me and I am not in (I do fish...not just sit by the phone awaiting reports) leave a message and I will get back to you . Also there are now two other contacts contained within the club rules and if , for example. I am going away on holiday I will indicate to contact them on this forum . Now we did have some problems with people not reporting fish last season , particularly Sea Trout.....this will be approached much more strictly by the club this season....read the club rules!!! Tight Lines for the new season ....Mick:)

The Season started on Saturday . I did not , as I usually do , go out and fish on opening day . I guess though that there is a chance of a Springer but there is of course the danger of catching a Kelt and I must admit I would feel bad about further weakening a Kelt that might just make it back to the Sea . It was also put to me that if I do catch an early Springer and return it , as I must until 16th of June , I would be reducing its' energy reserves needed to see it through to spawning at the end of the year . All food for thought . I will not start to give weekly reports until there is something to report ie migratory fish being caught and reported . Please remember that such fish must be reported to me within seven days of capture on 01939 261100 . Tight Lines.....Mick

CADAC migratory fish report 08/05/12.....Well I don't usually make two reports in a week but it seems worthwhile to let members know that there are migratory fish about . Whilst not wanting to repeat info already given by Chainman there has been another Salmon reported since my last report....a twelve pounder off St Davids' on Sunday . This was reported that promptly that the angler concerned still appeared a little breathless from the battle....thanks for such a prompt responce ! Today I have had a very prompt report of two very bright 1 1/2 lb Sewin taken off the Berwin Beat by an angler fishing for Salmon . This is all great news , migratory fish starting to appear and importantly for me and CADAC prompt reporting of their capture .

Hi Folks , Migratory Fish report 13/06/12.....sorry for the delay with this one of my neighbours cut the telephone line about five day ago ( again , did the same thing last year) and I have had no Internet or 'phone since . One Sea Trout was reported last week and .....wait for it....a Salmon off the Chain today , an 8lb Hen fish safely returned.....well done Freddie . Next report probably Saturday....hopefully more fish by then . A request from me ....we only had a 46% Salmon return rate last season , we have to improve markedly on this . I do like to keep the occasional fish myself but if we don't put more back to breed we might find ourselves having to put them all back ! Keep the Faith and tight lines....Mick

Migratory Fish Report 16/06/12 . Well after the excitement on Wednesday the river came up and coloured and I have had no reports of fish since then . Might I ask people to let me know if their fish are tagged when they report them . I am interested in the proportion of tagged fish that we get over a full season , as far as I know their are no tagged fish yet . I expect to be getting a phone call or two as the water drops . Please remember if I am not I will ring you back if you leave a message . Tight Lines and Keep the Faith . Mick
